‘Mad Dog’ Russo to appear on Friday evening preview show

Tune in to Hersam Acorn Radio for our State Football Finals programs today, tonight and tomorrow.

Starting at 5 p.m., we’ll broadcast our State Football Finals Preview show. Coaches Lou Marinelli (New Canaan), Rob Trifone (Darien), Tom Brockett (Ansonia), Joe DellaVecchia (St. Joe’s) and Tom Shea (Fairfield Prep) give our host Rob Adams a breakdown of their games.

Our panel of sports editors, Dave Stewart, Steve Buono, Bill Bloxsom and Mike Suppe also chime in with their take on these games after following each team all season long.

Also, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo chimes in on his prediction of who will win the New Canaan vs. Darien game, the impact of the weather, moving the game to Boyle Stadium, who should worry about the five turnovers in the Turkey Bowl 16 days ago and much more. Russo also talks about the New Canaan basketball program all the way down to the strength of the six grade squad and some major league baseball. Don’t miss it.

At 6:55 p.m. Friday we will be live in New Britain calling the Ansonia vs. Woodland Class S State Final game.

At 8:30 Saturday morning we will be broadcasting live from Boyle Stadium with our “tailgate” show with more interviews, updates and replay of our preview show.

At 10:55 a.m. it’s New Canaan vs. Darien in the Class L State final. We will be updating the Class M and LL games with live remote reports with our staff in New Britain.
