Debbie Bloemen Oppel posted a photo on the Shelton Herald’s Facebook page Wednesday morning. It’s a photo of the Shelton High School marching band at the 1974 Rose Parade.
Barbara Soukup-Mason was a pom pom girl, Class of 1974, didn’t march, but cheered on her peers.
“Although we were unable to march because the band had too many people in all our units, we did cheer on our color guard, twirlers and color guard,” she said in an email. “It was the best experience I have ever had on a band trip! We also traveled to Virginia and Florida. It was the best class ever and still keep in touch with friends even after 40 years!!!!! Shelton rocks! Great place to grow up and many fabulous memories.”
If you were there, share your memories in an email to Robin Walluck at email@example.com.
