Storm update: Snow intensity is picking up in Shelton

The intensity of the snow in Shelton has noticeably increased as of about 10:15 on Thursday night.

It appears about an inch of new snow has fallen in the past few hours, but it’s being dispersed in many directions due to consistent winds.

The temperature is 9 degrees in Shelton at 10:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS)

The NWS is predicting “widespread blowing snow” during the coming hours, with a total accumulation of 4 to 10 inches by the time the storm winds down on Friday at 2 p.m.

Temperatures should plunge on Friday, with daytime wind chills dropping to below-zero and overnight temperature lows of minus-5 into Saturday morning.
