Public can assist Shelton fire victims with food, clothing

Shelton fire officials are accepting food, clothing and blanket donations for victims of this morning’s fire on Howe Avenue in downtown Shelton.

“The Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 would like to thank the public for their outreach during this incident,” the volunteer fire company said on its Facebook page.

“We are currently accepting food and clothing donations at the firehouse for the victims that were displaced from the fire,” the message continued. “Please continue to check our page and website for further needs and information.”

The Echo Hose firehouse in located at 379 Coram Ave., not far from the fire scene.

“Thank you to everyone who has donated so far,” Echo Hose tweeted this evening. “It’s awesome to see the community step up and support those in need during this difficult time.”

 

Fire-Donations-Echo-Hose-2Fire company volunteers are asking that non-perishable food, clothing, blankets, toiletries, small dollar amount gift cards are suggested as well.

“We are being overwhelmed with phone calls at this time so please bring any donations to the fire house located at 379 Coram Avenue,” Echo Hose posted on its Facebook page.
