Shelton Police arrested Kristal Turman, 36, of Bridgeport on a warrant and charged him with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Turman was held on a $10,000 bond and was transported to Derby Court for arraignment.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began in August 2013 when an allegation of sexual contact with a child was reported to police.
The complaint alleges that Turman had inappropriate sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl in Shelton on Aug. 24. The victim was at a family member’s house when the alleged contact occurred.
Turman’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 15 in state Superior Court in Derby. Turman also has active arrest warrants for crimes related to sexual contact with juveniles in South Carolina and Georgia, police said.
