Shelton homeowner will receive $10,000 in energy-efficient upgrades as the winner of Next Step Living’s Good Energy Giveaway.
Carol Kaesmann of Shelton won first place in the contest, with attracted 11,000 entries, according to the Boston-based company.
“We’re going to install energy-efficient windows in our home,” Kaesmann said. “We know that will help make our home more comfortable and reduce our energy use. That’s almost like winning twice.”
The second-place winner will receive $5,000 in services and 10 additional homeowners will receive $100 gift cards. All winners were notified from Jan. 6 to 13.
Company marks fifth anniversary
Next Step Living is a provider of home energy solutions throughout New England. It has helped homeowners achieve almost $15 million in energy savings since 2008, according to publicity material.
Brian Greenfield, chief operating officer at Next Step Living, said the Good Energy Giveaway was initiated to celebrate the company’s fifth anniversary.
Next Step Living publicity material describes the company as “a one-stop service provider for informed advice, funding guidance and expert work” in the energy-efficiency field.
The company works with more than 400 municipalities, civic organizations and corporations to deliver energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly solutions, according to publicity material.
