Shelton High places top finishers at SCCs

Marlee Peterson finished third in the 55-meter hurdles at the Southern Connecticut Conference indoor track and field held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven on Thursday.

Peterson clocked a time of 9.18.

Shelton’s 4×200 relay team of Samanthan-Jo Hartmayer, Peterson, Laurel Bailey, Abigal Turco, Michelle Gutierrez and Sara Lipinski placed sixth with a time of 1:53.12.

The 4×800 relay team of Sarah Scuilla, Courtney Rodrigues, Emily Bean, Kaylee DeFelice, Nadia Wilson and Kayla Sekelsky took fifth with a time of 11:35.78.

The 1600 sprint medley team of Hartmayer, Peterson, Turco, Johnna Bakalar, Victoria Demko and Hannah Gill finished third in 4:39.11.

Laurel Bailey was second in the pole vault with a vault of 9-06.00.

Samantha Bailey was second in shot put, with a throw of 37-06.00.

The Gaelettes tied for seventh overall with Amity as a team with 31 points. Wilbur Cross won the team title with 62 points.

The Shelton High boys track and field team also placed seventh, notching 30 points.

The 1600 sprint medley squad of Mike Pingree, Alex Kirk, Wesley Kocurek, Dylan Smith, Jostin Cobb and Liam Fama took sixth in 3:56.47.

The 4×800 medley team of Joe Edelstein, Kristain Schif, Seth Shuster, Austin Kothary, Fama and Smith placed second with a time of 8:29.01.

The 4×200 relay team of Thomas Kane, Pingree, Michael Ficano, Kevin Block, Kirk and Tyler Hansen finished fifth in 1:39.51.

Matt Skoronski finished fifth in the 55 hurdles, clocking a time of 8.40.

Edelstein was third in the 3200 with a time of 9:59.76.

Fama was fourth in the 1000 with a time of 2:45.78.

Kane was third in the 55 with a time of 6.79.
