At around 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, emergency responders were called to a motor vehicle accident on River Road near Pleasant Street. Reports said it was a car vs. tanker trunk.

According to Echo Hose Hook & Ladder, crews arrived and had to remove the driver of the car. They removed both driver’s side doors, cut and folded the vehicles roof back and made a cut into the dash, and then rolled it up to free the patient’s legs.

The driver was taken to the hospital. The road was closed for a short time.
