Shelton could pick up 1 inch to 1-and-a-half inches of snow late Sunday.
The snow is expected to begin after 4 p.m. and become more intense after dark, ending about midnight, according to forecasters.
As of a few days ago, it appeared this snowstorm would be more significant but the system has since gained speed and now is expected to move quickly through the region.
The Sunday high in Shelton should be 28 degrees, with increasing clouds, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The low temperature overnight should be 16 degrees.
Monday should be sunny with a high of 27 degrees, and a nighttime low of 10 degrees, the NWS said.
