It’s hard to say for sure whether the coming storm will be an-all snow event, but temperatures in Shelton during the latter part of Thursday should get into the low to mid 30s so some rain is likely.
The storm is expected to arrive as snow and finish as snow in Shelton, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Snow begins in middle of night
The snow should begin at about 3 a.m. Thursday, with an overnight low Wednesday into Thursday of 20 degrees, the NWS said.
Snow intensity should pick up during the day on Thursday, with 4 to 8 inches falling in Shelton. The NWS said the day’s high will be 34 degrees, with the warmest temperatures in the early evening — so that’s when rain may mix in with the snow in Shelton.
Storm should end as snow
Late on Thursday night into the overnight, the storm should finish as all snow, with a nighttime low of 26 in Shelton, the NWS said.
Some lingering light snow is possible Friday morning but it shouldn’t involve measurable amounts, and on Friday afternoon light precipitation — rain or snow — is possible in Shelton.
Temperatures will climb into the upper 30s on Friday.
Overall, from 4 to 10 inches are possible in Shelton depending on the temperatures during the storm and other factors.
