Almost 2 inches of snow has fallen in Shelton as of 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

The snow is falling at a moderate rate, but is expected to pick up in the next few hours. Snowfall of an inch or two an hour is possible in the late morning, before a change-over to sleet and perhaps rain, then finishing with snow again late tonight.

The roads are passable, with some snow cover. Traffic is moving about 35 mph on Route 8, with vehicles forming tire track lanes that motorists are following.
