Earlier this week, new Honda vehicles being stored off Bridgeport Avenue by Curtiss-Ryan were barely noticeably under accumulating snow from the winter.

It feels like spring out there today, with the bright sun and warming temperatures.

As of 11 a.m.on Thursday, Feb. 20  in Shelton, it’s already 43 degrees — and the temperature should get up to 46 today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). In fact, it may feel even warmer due to the bright skies.

The break from precipitation should only last so long, however.

Rain and drizzle is expected to arrive tonight, after midnight. The rain should pick up in intensity on Friday, with up to a half an inch possible, the NWS said. Temperatures will again get into the high 40s on Friday.

Looks like a nice weekend

The weekend is looking nice. Saturday should be mostly sunny and it may get up to 50 degrees, according to the NWS, while Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 41 degrees.

The next chance for snow in Shelton is next Wednesday.
