Ponding in roads and dense fog are issues

With large amounts of snow melting due to warmer temperatures, there is significant ponding on some roads in Shelton.

Drivers are advised to be careful when driving because of the water build-up in certain locations on roads in the city.

In addition, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the region from midnight until 10 a.m. Friday.

“Restrictions to visibility will make traveling difficult, especially during the Friday morning commute,” the NWS said.

Rain intensifies on Friday

Rain is expected to continue well into Friday, with thunderstorms possible in the late morning. Up to a half an inch of rain could come down in Shelton during the course of Friday, the NWS said.

The temperature is forecast to reach a high of 50 degrees on Friday.
