Light snow has started to fall in Shelton as of about 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Some flurries are expected to pass through the region as a system heads east, with more substantial flurry activity expected in southern Connecticut and points south of the state.
“Snow may be briefly heavy late this morning,” the National Weather Service (NWS) said of southwestern Connecticut. “Mainly light snow accumulations are expected, although up to an inch of accumulation is possible locally in any of these heavier snow bands.”

As of 10:30 a.m. in Shelton, it is 21 degrees. Snow is possible until about 2 p.m. in the city, then it should become partly sunny, the NWS said. Shelton could pick up a half an inch of snow.
The temperature tonight should dip down to 6 degrees in Shelton, with the cold weather continuing through the rest of the week.
