Monroe man dies after motorcycle accident

A Monroe man has died from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on July 8.

According to Shelton Police, Adam Haydu, 30, died on July 19 from injuries from a vehicle and motorcycle accident on Leavenworth Road at the entrance to Mont’s Mart.

The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old James Steinmetz of Monroe, sustained minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital for any treatment. There were no other occupants in the car or on the motorcycle. Both the vehicle and the motorcycle were heavily damaged.

The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team, with assistance from the Trumbull Police Traffic Division, was called to investigate the accident.

The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is still investigating this accident. No enforcement action has been taken at this time. Any witnesses or persons with additional information may call the Shelton Police Traffic Division at 203-924-1544.
