Shelton robotics team readies for North American championship

A team of 6th grade students from Perry Hill School in Shelton will be competing in the FLL North American Open Championship from May 16-18.

They will compete against 70 other selected championship teams from across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Perry Hill Dominators (PhD’s) is made up of the following students: Jake Daxner, Justin Gidwani, Siddharth Jain, Keegan McDonough, Amelia Nankervis, David Niski, Megan Pereira, Ian Pleasant, Anish Rajamanickam and Ananya Yadav.

They earned the opportunity to go to the championship after winning the Dec. 7 Connecticut State FIRST Lego League (FLL) Robotics Competition.

The team competed in “Nature’s Fury,” and the Dominators studied “wildfires” and researched the topic and innovative solutions.
