Today: Extra police at SHS; support staff available

It’s a somber day at Shelton High School, said Dr. Beth Smith, headmaster at SHS. She said the school support staff is doing an “excellent job meeting with students and staff in need.”

Following the weekend shooting of a 15-year-old student of Shelton High School, there will be more police on campus, as well as support staff for students and staff.

“I convened a security meeting this evening,” said Beth Smith, headmaster at SHS. “There will be extra Shelton police officers at school tomorrow.

“The school crisis team will be enacted first thing tomorrow morning,” she said. “Support staff will be available for the SHS community.”
