Ndoj is listed in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital.

Headmaster Beth Smith said students “are somber. They know a student who is a friend of theirs is now in serious condition.”

Smith said her thoughts, and those of the school community, are with Ndoj and his family.

She requested an extra police presence at the school today as well as other crisis team actions to “comfort students, staff and family.”

‘A very safe environment’

Smith said having an extra police presence was a way to ensure everyone there would be “a very safe environment” at Shelton High.
