Rain with some sleet expected tonight in Shelton

It is expected to rain and sleet in Shelton early this evening, then change over to all rain into the late night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A significant amount of rain could fall during the overnight hours. The winds also will pick tonight, with gusts up to 21 mph, the NWS said.

As of 5:45 p.m. in Shelton, it is 37 degrees.

 

Will get into the 50s briefly

The good news is that the weather is about to get warmer, reaching into the mid-50s during the coming days. The first day of spring is Thursday, March 20.

But colder weather will return next week, with a chance of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.

 

Forecast for the next few days

Here is the NWS prediction for Shelton for the next few days:

Thursday:  Mostly sunny, with a high of 51 degrees and an nighttime low of 29 degrees.

Friday:  Sunny, with a high of 47 degrees and an overnight low of 33 degrees. Strong winds possible during the day.

Saturday:  Possible light rain in the morning followed by a cloudy afternoon. Daytime high of 54 degrees and an nighttime low of 29 degrees.

Sunday:  Partly sunny with a high of 43 degrees and an overnight low of 22 degrees.
