The Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center, which serves Shelton and other Valley towns, will hold its third annual Pedal for PCRC cycling fund-raiser on Sunday, May 18.

The event raises money for PCRC’s many diverse treatment and preventative programs for children and families in the community. The nonprofit agency focuses on mental health issues, serving more than 900 clients a year.

Pedal for PCRC participants can choose from one of three route options and ride at their own pace. The start and finish location is at the PerkinElmer lower parking area, 710 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton. Event takes place rain or shine.

Raise funds through pledges

Each cyclist commits to raising a minimum of $100 for PCRC. Cyclists who raise $250 or more will be issued a custom Pedal for PCRC jersey. Registration now is open.

Volunteers also are needed to organize and staff the event.

After the event there will be a celebration featuring a barbecue, music from WPLR, food provided by David Grant Caterer’s, beer, prizes, and other activities.
