Joseph Ramia, 86 of Shelton entered into his eternal rest on Thursday April 3, 2014 in Mayfairer Health and Rehabilitation Center Trumbull. He was the devoted husband of Theresa (Terri) Esposito Ramia.
Mr. Ramia was born in Shelton on November 2, 1927 son of the late George P. and Catherine (Nash) Ramia, Sr. and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
He was an US Veteran serving in the Navy during WWII, and was a retired Mill Wright having worked at New England Engineering for over 30 years.
He is the beloved father of Vivian Ramia McKeeman, and her husband James, and Matthew Ramia, Esquire, and his wife Teresa Rose. He is the cherished grandfather of Sara Tesch, and the brother of Thomas (Zeke) Ramia,Catherine Ebling, Mary Ellen Ramia, and Eva Ogle. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother George P. Ramia, Jr. and three sisters, Rose Storiale, Emily McCabe, and Sally Pagliaro.
Friends may greet his family on Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Monday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton. Burial with full military honors will follow in Lawn Cemetery.
