Shelton resident named valedictorian at St. Joe's in Trumbull

St. Joseph High School principal Ken Mayo, Shelton resident Marina Spinelli, Monroe resident Tiffany Marini and Nancy DiBuono the school's assistant principal.

St. Joseph High School principal Ken Mayo, Shelton resident Marina Spinelli, Monroe resident Tiffany Marini who will be the salutatorian and Nancy DiBuono the school’s assistant principal.

 

Marina Spinelli has been named the valedictorian of the Class of 2014 at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull.

Marina attained a GPA of greater than a 100 average, and has maintained this average for the past four years. A member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. She has made the president’s honor roll each quarter.

She is the recipient of the Excellence in Math and Science Award, the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, the AP Biology in Academic Excellence Award, and many others.

Besides her academic awards, Marina has taken part in the Moody Mega Math Challenge team, is a member of the student ambassador program, an active member of the campus ministry, a counselor at Camp Sunshine working with children with life-threatening illnesses, and has volunteered her time as many other organizations for charity and good will.

Marina hopes to pursue pre-med as her major. She attended Shelton Intermediate School before entering the parochial high school.
