SHELTON WEATHER UPDATE: Prepare to bundle up on Thursday, too

The cold weather will continue for at least one more day, with a high around 47 expected on Thursday.

It should dip into the mid to high 20s in Shelton during the overnight from Wednesday into Thursday, with patchy frosty expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Thursday will be sunny, with a daytime high temperature about equivalent to Wednesday. Winds on Thursday won’t be quite as strong, but should make it feel colder like on Wednesday. Sustained winds of 9 to 13 mph are expected, the NWS said.

Improvement on the weekend

The weekend looks slightly warmer and mostly dry. But it won’t be a repeat of last weekend, when temperatures soared into the 60s and reminded everyone that — at least when it comes to the calendar — spring has arrived.

Here is the NWS forecast for Shelton for later in the week:

Friday:  Partly sunny, with a high near 50. A slight chance of drizzle after 12 o’clock noon. Possible drizzle at night, with an overnight low of 37.

Saturday:  Partly sunny, with a high near 53. A slight chance of drizzle before noon. Nighttime low around 39.

Sunday:  Mostly sunny, with a daytime high near 58 and an overnight low around 39.
