The American Legion will sponsor a Kids Walk to raise money for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center on Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park (the Riverwalk) in Shelton.
The day’s event will include a one- to three-mile walk. People can register and make donations that morning at the Shelton Farmers Market, next to the park.
Bottled water and snacks will be provided for walk participants at the Farmers Market.
Shelton American Legion organizing
The fund-raising event is being organized by Sutter-Terlizzi American Legion Post No. 16 of Shelton in conjunction with the American Legion Department of Connecticut’s Third District, which covers Fairfield County.
Along with the general public, alumni of the American Legion’s many youth programs are encouraged to join in the walk.
All pledges and donations to the Kids Walk will benefit the nonprofit Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, a 187-bed facility that focuses on the care of infants, children and adolescents from around the state.
