Shelton resident taken to hospital after motorcycle accident

A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital yesterday following a crash in Shelton. One vehicle — the motorcycle — was involved.

According to police, on May 11, at about 5:40 p.m., Shelton first responders were dispatched to Leavenworth Road (Route 110) and Walnut Tree Hill Road on an accident call.

SheltonPoliceDeptPatchPolice said the driver of the motorcycle, Michael Sanko, 53, of Shelton, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to initial reports, Sanko was traveling south on Leavenworth Road, and that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is currently investigating this accident. No enforcement action has been taken at this time.
