The Shelton and Naugatuck Valley Relay for Life will take place from 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, at the Shelton Riverwalk and Farmers Market.
This year’s theme is “Relay Around the World.”
Relay for Life is a community event open to the public in which teams of people celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
Ceremonies, raffles, food, games
Participating teams have members walk around a track into the overnight to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The family-friendly event also will include ceremonies, raffles, food, games and activities for all ages.
Specific events include the survivor luncheon at noon (before the official start), opening ceremony at 2 p.m., Fight Back ceremony at 5 p.m., and luminaria ceremony at 9 p.m.
