Obituary: Frank E. Platko Ph.D., 75, of Shelton

Frank E. Platko Ph.D., age 75, of Shelton, beloved husband of Rosalie Recupero Platko, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 in his home.

Frank, a retired Chemist and Vice President of Research and Development for Propper Manufacturing Company, of Long Island City, New York, was born in Bridgeport tot the late Frank C. and Emma (Ritz) Platko, and has been a long time area resident. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport, and received his Ph.D. from Perdue University.

Frank was a member of the American Chemical Society, and was an avid fisherman, and animal lover, and was a fan of the New York Yankees.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his devoted children, Christopher Burkat and his wife Susan of NY, and Stacey Tatem and her husband David of Newington, 2 cherished grandchildren Tyler Rose and Jake Tatem, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet Frank’s family on Saturday, June 7th from 10:30 a.m. -12 Noon in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Frank’s memory to the American Lung Association 45 Ash Street East Hartford, CT. 06108 or to www.aspca.org.
