Saturday regatta event will bring increased traffic to Shelton

People can expect increased traffic and crowds near Indian Well State Park this weekend due to a large New Haven Rowing Club event.

The 23rd Derby Sweeps & Sculls Regatta will take place Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

The race will be based at Indian Well State Park on Route 110, just north of downtown Shelton, and take place on the Housatonic River.

The races are 1,000 meters long. The state park, beach, and water will all remain open to the public, but increased traffic in the area is expected.
