Shelton native Matt Bednarsky, who is pursuing a musical career in Nashville, has released a new music video and will perform over the July Fourth weekend in Shelton.
The video is for the song “Grand” from his latest album, titled “A Bigger Picture.” Watch and listen to the music video by clicking below:
“Preston Leatherman over at Nashville/Create did a killer job directing, shooting, and editing it,” Bednarsky said.
Will perform in Shelton
Bednarsky also is planning to head to the Northeast this summer to perform concerts in Connecticut (including Shelton), New York City, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Public shows in this vicinity will include:
— Friday, June 27 at 8:15 p.m. at Caffe Vivaldi, New York City.
— Saturday, July 5 at 8 p.m. at Huntington Street Cafe, Shelton.
— Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at The Black Sheep, Niantic, Conn.
Also will do ‘house shows’
Bednarsky also will perform a “house show” at a private residence in Shelton on July 1.
“House shows are intimate environments where people gather together to listen to music,” he said. “Kind of like a throwback to listening to vinyl records with friends, but this time, with the artist in the room.”
Anyone who would like to host a house show can contact Bednarsky through his website at www.mattbednarsky.com.
He also has concert dates set through next year at venues in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
He’s a Shelton High graduate
Bednarsky is a 2005 graduate of Shelton High School, where he was active with the drama club, choir and a cappella music groups.
He graduated from New York University in 2009 and then lived in New York for awhile.
Bednarsky moved to Nashville — known as Music City — about a year ago and has been busy writing songs and performing ever since.
He described his music style as being pop-rock with traces of folk, jazz and blues. “Somewhere between James Taylor and John Mayer,” Bednarsky said.
