The name of new establishment at 441 Howe Ave. was selected after a contest involving the public.

Bricks & Barley should be open seven days a week, offering food and drink. The new owners have made renovations on the inside, but kept the original wooden bar that dates back many decades.

One of the co-owners is Chris Jones of Shelton, who is well known in the community as a volunteer firefighter, former alderman, and two-time mayoral candidate.

Downtown Danny O’s closed in late February after 13 years in business.
