Trash, recycling pickups to be altered for Fourth of July

Trash and recycling collection in Shelton will be suspended on Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Residents are advised to put out their trash and recycling on their normally scheduled day, and Friday’s collection will be picked up on Saturday.

The transfer station and the city yard will be closed on the Fourth of July for the holiday. The transfer station will be open Saturday, July 5 from 7 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

The announcement on the holiday hours was made by Public Works Director Paul J. DiMauro. Direct any questions to the Public Works Department at 203-924-9277.
