Letter: Sen. Murphy, a higher gas tax means higher costs for everything

To the Editor:

When is U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy and the rest of the politicians going to realize increasing taxes on gas increases the cost of everything?

They have a plan to offset the tax increase with other tax cuts. Do you want to bet on that one ever happening?

Whatever happened to the money for the “shovel ready projects”?

If you want to help the poor and middle class, cut taxes. They will have more money to spend without raising the minimum wage.

Murphy also has the economy wrong, too. He said our economy is slowly recovering. I guess he hasn’t seen the latest figures.
