‘Les Misérables’ to be performed on stage in Shelton this summer

Center Stage Theatre in Shelton will present a Youth CONNection production of “Les Misérables” from July 25 to Aug. 2.

Shows will be at Shelton High School on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., plus a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. on Aug. 2

Youth CONNection is a summer theater group for high school and college-aged students interested in the performance arts. It was started in 1983 by husband and wife, Gary and Francesca Scarpa.

“Les Misérables,” based on the Victor Hugo classic novel from the late 19th century, brings to life the universal and uplifting themes of revolution, hope and salvation.

The musical first premiered on Broadway in 1987.

The production kicks off Center Stage’s 10th anniversary season and is directed by Gary and Mia Scarpa. Shelton High is at 120 Meadow St. For tickets and information go to centerstageshelton.com.
