Marjorie Claire Bowden Bloom, age 79, of Monroe, died July 15, 2014 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Mrs. Bloom was born in East Haven, CT on September 2, 1934. She was the daughter of Robert Charles and Lillian Patterson Bowden. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Eric Bloom.
She graduated from East Haven High School and Southern CT State University. She taught in the East Haven, Norwalk, Fairfield and Monroe School Systems.
She traveled through Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Kenya Africa where a highlight of the trip was traveling in a balloon over the Masai Mara.
She is survived by four children Roberta Bloom and her husband John Boath of Shelton, Patricia Pelletier of Wallingford, Kristen F. Bloom of Monroe and Eric S. Bloom of Monroe; five grandchildren Michael, Veronica and Luc Pelletier and Ian and Kelsi Boath; two sisters Bettye Cote of Branford and Roberta Cordner of Northford; one brother Robert Bowden of East Haven and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Kathleen Salminen and Lillian Masotta.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Interment in Cutlers Farm Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
