Many of you knew my late husband Larry Miller. Public service was his passion. His experiences serving as the state representative from the 122nd District for more than two decades were among his happiest memories.
When he fell ill earlier this year, Larry knew it was in the best interest of his constituents that he step aside. Although he loved serving in Hartford, he knew Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull needed someone who could fight for them full-speed at the Capitol.
Larry’s choice to replace him would need to be someone who understood and had ties to all three communities in the district, and would need to be someone who he could trust to carry on his legacy and love of public service.
Fortunately, we didn’t have to look too far to find such a replacement. The man next door (literally), Mike Vickerelli, is the perfect candidate to carry on Larry’s work at the Capitol.
Mike has been involved in a number of civic organizations for many years. His ability and willingness to help others will benefit all of us for years to come.
Larry’s loss will forever leave a hole in my heart. For you, for me and for Larry, please support our friend Mike Vickerelli for state representative on Aug. 12.
Millie Miller, Stratford
