Free nutrition course starts at Griffin Hospital

Questions about nutrition will be answered.

Griffin Hospital will offer a free four-week nutrition course, led by nutrition expert Samantha Heller.

“Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Nutrition, But Were Afraid to Ask” is a series of classes.

Heller is the clinical nutrition coordinator at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, and a registered dietitian and exercise physiologist.

The classes take place Tuesdays, Sept. 16 to Oct. 7, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, 350 Seymour Avenue, Derby.

Participants should plan on attending all four sessions, as the learning is cumulative.  Topics covered include: maintaining a healthy weight, managing Type 2 diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure, stamina and energy, reducing the risk of cancer and other diseases, memory and nutrition.
