Veterans support sessions
Ramon Agosto, veteran service officer, will be available Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 12:30 p.m. to assist veterans in applying for V.A. benefits and preparing and presenting claims. Non-members welcome. No appointments necessary.
Camera and computer imaging workshop
Thursday, Sept. 11, 9:30 a.m., meet on Thursdays for eight weeks. Cost: $10. Taught by Perry DeGeorge. Learn how to set your camera to get the best pictures and make them better by editing them in your computer. Printing in different sizes and saving them for the future and more. Members only. Thursday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m., Ted Pisciotta, assistant chief — fire prevention — will be presenting home fire hazard prevention and preparedness. Pisciotta will explain how to identify potential hazards and risks associated with your home. His presentation will discuss how to prevent a fire from occurring, but also how to be prepared and react in the event an unwanted fire does happen. Non-members welcome.

The Emergency Care Institute of Bridgeport Hospital will conduct screenings Monday, Sept. 22, 12 to 2 p.m. Non-members welcome.
Senior health and wellness fair
Tuesday, Sept. 23. State Sen. Kevin Kelly and his staff hosts. State and local organizations will be on site to provide health screenings and up-to date information about programs available to the senior population and their families relating to health, legal issues and financial services.
There will be a special presentation at noon when Judith Stein, executive director of the Center for Medicare Advocacy and member of the Federal Commission on Long Term Care, will discuss recent Medicare developments and what they mean for you and your family.
Dr. Sharnoff presents Wednesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. for an informative session on foot care. Non-members welcome.
Collette Travel will present a slide show on Friday, Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. on the upcoming 2015 trip to Portugal. Cost, discounts and itinerary will be discussed. Deposits will be accepted at the presentation.
