Teresa Younger, president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women, will act as emcee for Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s State of Girls Speaker Series panel discussion at Fairfield University on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Younger, who took office at the Ms. Foundation on June 16, is a former two-term board president of Girl Scouts of Connecticut.

The speaker series will focus on a report recently released by the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI) entitled “The State of Girls: Unfinished Business.”

The report said overall, there is good news for girls, about 30% of girls reported some sort of bullying or aggression from their peers.

A panel of experts will discuss this research as well as community solutions that can be implemented to help move the needle and finish the job for girls’ empowerment. In addition, newly-released data about the state of girls in Connecticut will be shared and discussed.

The public is welcome to the talk, but must register in advance. For more information, to submit questions or to register, visit gsofct.org/pages/SpeakerSeries.php.
