Lower Bridgeport Avenue paving means temporary closures

There are some temporary road closures for paving operations on lower Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton today, near the intersection with Huntington Street and Huntington Road.

That is close to Exit 11 of Route 8, and also where the Shelton border is with Stratford and Trumbull.

For a short distance, Bridgeport Avenue northbound from the Huntington Street/Road intersection was closed at times on Thursday morning. Police are directing traffic around the site.

According to signs posted near the word site, drivers can expect some delays and detours during work day hours. The signs indicate the work began Sept. 3 and was scheduled to be completed Sept. 10.

Paving also took place in the vicinity on late Wednesday, leading to some local traffic delays at the busy intersection.
