A childcare center in Shelton recently held an event to raise money for a charity project to help children and families in need.
Bright Horizons early education and preschool facility at Enterprise Corporate Towers organized a “Walk On” and a lemonade stand on Aug. 22 to generate funds for a “Bright Space” that is being created at Gini’s House in Norwalk.
Gini’s House offers supportive housing for women in recovery from substance abuse and their children.
Children from the Bright Horizons at 3 Corporate Drive raised more than $100 for the project during the event.
Through the Bright Spaces program, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children works with agencies across the country to create and support places for children to build caring relationships, heal from trauma through play, and experience the joy of childhood.
“Having a place for families to relax together helps them to build important bonds that strengthen the family during this difficult time,” according to a Bright Horizons press release.
