Shelton club to sponsor K-9 Karnival for all dog owners

Trap Falls Kennel Club organizes Sept. 27 event

Trap Falls Kennel Club in Shelton will have its annual K-9 Karnival on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Eisenhower Park in Milford.

The Responsible Dog Ownership Day event is free to the public with their leashed dogs. It celebrates the joys of dog ownership and will feature classes, demonstrations and vendors.

Milford Mayor Benjamin Blake recently proclaimed Sept. 27 as Responsible Dog Ownership Day in Milford due to the upcoming event.

 

Dog obedience activities

The K-9 Karnival will feature dog obedience activities, and demonstrations in agility, herding and rally. Local police departments will put on demonstrations showing off their hard-working canine companions.

There will be Canine Good Citizen testing, a Doggie Fun Zone, pet photographer, multiple vendors, food and raffles.

 

Best Dressed, Best Kisser, Best Trick

Contests for Best Dressed, Best Kisser and Best Trick will take place, and attendees can learn about different breeds of dogs from among the 60-plus breeds featured at the event.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a donation a get a free raffle ticket. Proceeds will go to local shelters.

Trap Falls Kennel Club is a nonprofit organization and part of the American Kennel Club.
