Shelton crews respond to call of possible propane leak at city school bus garage

Shelton-Propane-Buses

Some of the city’s new propane school buses parked in the bus yard on Riverdale Avenue.

Echo Hose firefighters are responding to a call concerning a possible propane leak in the school bus maintenance facility on Riverdale Avenue.

The initial call came in at about 1:25 p.m. on Monday. It’s uncertain if there is an actual leak.

The bus garage recently was renovated to take care of the city’s new school bus fleet, which operates on propane. There also is a propane filling station in the area for the buses, which are stored across the street in a parking lot.
