A restorer of antique cars is moving to a site off Bridgeport Avenue from a Redding location.
Shelton resident Jim Gorel restores mostly pre-1915 vehicles, often taking up to eight months per car to finish a job. Almost all vehicles he works on were made prior to 1940.
“These are not the kind of cars that get repaired every day,” Gorel told the Planning and Zoning Commission when seeking approval for the new site.
His automotive restoration company, called All-Era Automotive, should mostly operate during normal weekday business hours at the Shelton location
Gorel went to college to learn his craft, and now does work for clients from throughout the country. “Yes, I make a living doing this,” he said when asked.
