Obama visit to Bridgeport on Wednesday night is postponed

President Barack Obama’s scheduled campaign visit to Bridgeport on Wednesday evening has been postponed.

Obama will instead convene a cabinet meeting regarding Ebola at the White House, according to multiple reports. A scheduled trip to New Jersey has also been put off.

Obama was coming to Connecticut to campaign for Democratic Dannel P. Malloy, who is in a close re-election race with Republican challenger Tom Foley. The president was to visit Central High School in Bridgeport, where he was expected to promote the candidacy of Malloy and other Democrats — such as U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, who represents most of Sheton and is running against former state Sen. Dan Debicella of Shelton.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
