Shelton High PTSO seeks new members

The Shelton High School PTSO is seeking new members. The group for parents and teachers usually meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the SHS media center.
The organization keeps parents informed and helps students succeed.

“Did you know that students with involved parents, no matter their income or background, are more likely to: 1. Earn higher grades and test scores; 2. Attend school regularly; 3. Have better social skills and show improved behavior; and 4. Graduate and go on to post-secondary education?” according to PTSO publicity material. “When parents get involved, students benefit.”

The PTSO sponsors scholarships, cultural arts programs, and numerous school activities such as the CAPT breakfast, college fair and post Prom.

“Most importantly, the PTSO is the link to your student — and their success,” PTSO representatives said.

To become a member, visit sheltonpublicschools.org and go to “Shelton High School,” “About” and “Forms” to download a membership form.
