The Shelton Police Department said the arrests stem from three separate reported incidents in September and August.

On Sept. 4, a person reported to police that their vehicle was broken into on Maltby Street and an iPad and other items were stolen.

Also on Sept. 4, police received another report that items were stolen from a vehicle on Wakelee Avenue. Police said a wallet was taken from the vehicle and someone used a screwdriver in an attempt to steal the vehicle, but was unsuccessful.

Riverwalk incident

On Aug. 18, just after midnight, police were sent to the Riverwalk in downtown Shelton for a reported assault.

According to police, Skeens and another male got into a dispute with a 50-year-old victim and then punched the victim several times in the face and head. The pair then allegedly destroyed property belonging to the victim.

Earlier robbery assault, larceny arrest

Skeens has been arrested by the Shelton Police Department before. In early September, he allegedly assaulted a 52-year-old Shelton man who had offered to give Skeens and an accomplice a ride to the hospital, and then stole the man’s vehicle.

FI-Shelton-PolicePolice said during this incident on Sept. 4, Skeens, then age 18, and a 17-year-old Ansonia male approached the older man outside his residence, claimed one of them was injured, and asked to be driven to the hospital.

They later allegedly assaulted the man by forcing him to the ground and taking his cell phone and car keys, and stole his vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries and while trying to find help, the males drove by him and taunted him by honking the horn on the vehicle they just stolen from him, according to police.

Shelton officers later spotted the stolen vehicle and were able to take Skeens and the 17-year-old male into custody.

In this case, Skeens was charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. His bond was $75,000.
