United Illuminating is reporting that most people in Shelton who were without power earlier Wednesday night now have their electricity back.
According to the UI website, only 11 Shelton customers lack power as of 10:45 p.m.
In neighboring Trumbull, where some of the transmission lines serve Shelton, the company reports 439 customers remain without electricity at that time.
The outage numbers in both communities were much higher a few hours earlier. The Shelton power disruptions appear to have been centered in the Huntington section.
The local outages occurred between 6:20 and 7:50 p.m., and most likely were caused by the high winds in the region.
UI also is reporting some outages in New Haven and Hamden.
