The Bridgeport Bluefish will host the 2015 Atlantic League all-star game on Wednesday, July 8 at Harbor Yard Ballpark.
This will be the third time the Bluefish have hosted the game, with the previous mid-summer classics being held in 1999 and 2006.
The festivities will begin on Tuesday, July 7, as the Bluefish welcome fans, players and coaches from around the Atlantic League for two days of activities.
Showcasing the region
Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole said various other events will be organized to coincide with the all-star game. “This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the Ballpark at Harbor Yard, the city of Bridgeport and the entire southern Connecticut region,” Toole said.
Atlantic League President Rick White said the Bluefish organization “is working hard to create an extraordinary mid-summer celebration.”
More details and ticket information will be announced in the coming months.
Logo: ‘Balance of classic and fun’
The 2015 Atlantic League all-star game logo has been designed by Skye Design Studios of New Jersey, a brand identity and design firm.
“The primary logo features the smokestacks and Amtrak train just beyond the outfield wall at Harbor Yard,” said Skye Dillon of Skye Design Studios. “In addition to both being part of the game-day experience for fans, they also represent core elements of the city’s industrial history.
“Custom lettering and ribbon work was inspired by Bridgeport native P.T. Barnum’s iconic circus posters — an ideal balance of classic and fun, fitting for an all-star game,” Dillon said. “The mark is set within the silhouette of Connecticut as a postcard of sorts for visiting fans.”
