Thousands of items of food donated to Spooner House

During Hunger Action Month, enough food was donated to the Spooner House to provide meals to residents in the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

Throughout September, 4,976 non-perishable food items were collected to provide more than 3,317 meals.

Because the need is ongoing, deliveries of non-perishable food items are always accepted at Spooner House, 30 Todd Road in Shelton. Times to donate are weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Donors may also set up a special time for food delivery by calling 203-225-0453. Checks should be made payable and mailed to: Spooner House, 30 Todd Road, Shelton 06484. Secure donations may also be made via PayPal by clicking on the Donate button at the bottom of www.actspooner.org.
