Eight Shelton High School seniors will showcase their talent along with students from eight area high schools in a production by Center Stage Theatre’s Teen Musical Theatre Workshop in Shelton.

Appearing in the production will be Tyler Cordes, Haley Hudler, Jake Inzerra, Veronica Pleasant, Nicole Romeos, Alison Scalenghe, Lili Sierra and Elise Sullivan.

“This is an awesome group of seniors who have been with us for three or more years,” said Gina Scarpa, who co-directs the show with her sister Mia. “Their talent is large, and we’re really going to miss them next year.”

The annual Teen Musical Theatre Workshop is a musical revue featuring songs from hit Broadway musicals.

This year’s production is entitled “Beautiful City” and features songs from such shows as “Godspell,” “Aladdin,” “Kiss Me Kate,” “Motown” and “Beautiful: the Carol King Musical,” to name a few.

‘Talent and energy’ on stage

Shelton-CenterStageLogo2Center Stage Artistic Director Gary Scarpa said, “Although we present a season of five full-scale productions, using age appropriate casts, our Teen Musical Theatre Workshop production is undoubtedly among our favorites each year. The talent and energy of the kids is awesome.”

Elise Sullivan, who has been a Center Stage performer since elementary school, said, “I have loved performing in the Teen Musical Theatre Workshop for four years, and I especially love how rehearsals are a judgment-free zone where we can express ourselves creatively.”
